ISO CAT I Ultrasound Certification Training
In accordance with ISO 18436-3 and ISO 18436-8
ISO CAT I Ultrasound Certification Training is an opportunity to learn from experienced ultrasound trainers and inspectors while building the essential skills required to start or strengthen an ultrasound reliability program.
This 4-day course delivers a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Working from the CAT I course guide, participants are introduced to core sound theory and how it applies to the inspection disciplines required for an effective ultrasound program.
Course Goals
- Understand the principles of ultrasound as applied to predictive maintenance
- Gain knowledge of generic ultrasound equipment, including airborne and structure-borne sensors and their functions
- Explore data acquisition and storage options
- Analyze and trend data using time-signal techniques and statistical dB alarm strategies
- Develop application knowledge across:
- Compressed air & gas leak detection
- Bearing lubrication and condition monitoring
- Steam trap and valve inspection
- Electrical system inspection and fault awareness
- Hydraulic inspections and more
- Assess equipment condition and determine severity and maintenance priorities
- Receive guidance on implementing an ultrasound program at your facility
